The Super Eagles’ participation has given Bayer Leverkusen winger Nathan Tella more confidence.
The 24-year-old, who was born in England to Nigerian parents, made his Super Eagles debut last week against the Warriors of Zimbabwe in a 2026 FIFA World Cup qualifier.
Victor Boniface took Tella’s place at halftime after Tella had started the match.

The former Burnley player is again fully committed to club football.
On Thursday night, Leverkusen and Hacken, a Swedish team, will play in the UEFA Europa League (today).
Tella, before the meeting scheduled for the Nya Ullevi, Goteborg, said he feels happy.
“I have gained a great deal of confidence over the past few weeks. You always want to play as a player, especially in the big games,” he said to reporters.
My international debut was beneficial to me as well. I’m now eagerly anticipating the game.
