Super Eagles coach Jose Peseiro has taken aim at detractors before of his team’s Friday night 2023 Africa Cup of Nations quarterfinal matchup against Angola.

According to Obasanjo News24, Peseiro has been the target of criticism in recent months from both fans and commentators.
Some even advocated that the Nigeria Football Federation, NFF, not extend his contract with the Super Eagles ahead of the 2023 AFCON competition.
At his pre-match press conference on Thursday ahead of Nigeria’s encounter against Angola, Peseiro responded to a question on how he is managing criticism by saying, “I am 63; maybe 20 years ago, it will affect me.”
“I’ve received enough vaccinations to fend off criticism.”
