Victor Osimhen and his Super Eagles teammates need inspiration as they get ready to play the Palancas Negras of Angola in the quarterfinal of the ongoing 2023 Africa Cup of Nations, or AFCON, on Friday night, according to former presidential aide Reno Omokri.

Omokri also urged Jose Peseiro’s side not to be scared by Angola in a lengthy message via his X account.

Nigeria enters the match having defeated Cameroon 2-0 in their previous encounter, while Angola defeated Namibia 3-0.

“Angola should not intimidate the Super Eagles.” Nonetheless, they must to have a realistic evaluation of our rivals going into today’s #AFCON match. The Black Sable Antelopes, or Palancas Negras, are a formidable squad. Omokri tweeted, “Our boys need motivation because of this.”

“I already mentioned this, and it went viral. Permit me to reiterate. Corporate Nigeria should intervene and provide our boys with incentives by offering to pay out dollars (equal to Naira) in exchange for goals scored against Angola. We have enough dollar billionaires—I won’t identify them—to pacify Victor Osimhen and the lads.

“The Angolans are already doing what corporate Nigeria is not yet doing, thus it appears that they have read my post from last month.

For instance, the Angolan Investment Bank has promised $6000 to each player and official, while the Angolan Diamond Trading Company has committed $250,000 to their side. This is based on their (heaven forbid!) loss against a certain team today. A rapper from Angola has promised to give the squad $12,000 if they perform well today, and their government has also offered the team free land. Angola has been attempting to unseat us as the leading oil-producing country in Africa. Keep them from defeating us at #AFCON2023.”
