Kwara United’s defence has been deemed inadequate by Sunshine Stars coach Akin Olowokere.
At the Kwara Sports Complex in Ilorin on Wednesday, Olowokere guided his group to a 2-1 victory over Kwara United.
The game served as a preseason exhibition to help both sides sharpen their preparations for the 2023–24 Nigeria Professional Football League season.
The youthful strategist claimed that his team took advantage of the porous defence to steal a victory from their hosts.
In a post-game briefing, he stated, “We researched them in the first half.”
“In the second half, we observed that they were overconfident, and we identified a weak defensive line and took advantage of it.”
The 2023–24 season will begin with Sunshine Stars vs. Kano Pillars.
