Sa’ad Abubakar III, the Sultan of Sokoto, gave Nigerians a tip on who to support in the general elections of 2023 on Thursday.
The President General of the Nigeria Supreme Council for Islamic Affairs (NSCIA) urged them to only support reputable candidates for office.
Alhaji Abubakar provided the advice to attendees at the 29th National Council on Water Resources (NCWR) meeting in Sokoto.

The nation’s top Muslim official urged voters to exercise good judgement when casting ballots.
The Sultan emphasised that Nigerians needed to consider and reconsider the candidates for whom they would cast their ballots.
“We should vote for Nigeria first and not take into account the religious or ethnic backgrounds of any candidates.
Our country should come first, not electing somebody who might make our current problems worse, according to NAN.
The revered king said that in terms of security, Nigeria “is far better than many countries.”
However, in order to be able to deal with issues, the ancient rulers asked for prayers for those in positions of authority.
