The Nigerian Army, in collaboration with the Nigeria Police, Department of State Services, and Nigerian Security and Civil Defence Corps, recently completed a successful special clearance operation in the general areas of Udda, Ihiteukwa, and Orsumoghu, along the borders of Orsu and Ihiala LGAs of Imo and Anambra states.
During the operation, the troops encountered members of the Indigenous People of Biafra (IPOB) and the Eastern Security Network (ESN) who were using the area as a hideout.
The insurgents resorted to guerrilla tactics, using improvised explosive devices (IEDs) and booby traps, but the troops effectively neutralized them, including a notorious terrorist camp Commander named Tochukwu, alias Ojoto, along with two others.

This operation has significantly disrupted the terrorists’ networks in the region, with the IEDs and bomb-making materials safely destroyed.
In a separate operation in Cross River State, troops engaged in a fierce gun battle with suspected kidnappers in Akparanbong, Ikom Local Government Area, forcing the kidnappers to retreat and abandon two AK-47 rifles, six magazines, various ammunition, and three mobile phones.
