To facilitate the mobility of parliamentary personnel, the National Assembly introduced eight new coaster buses in Abuja on Monday. The vans were donated by the Clerk, Magaji Tambawal.
The buses are a part of the interim steps taken to lessen the impact on the employees of the termination of fuel subsidies.

As part of efforts to lessen the effects of the elimination of gasoline subsidies, the Clerk has also started implementing the new N35,000 wage award for National Assembly employees.
Speaking at the vehicle’s launch and delivery to the Parliamentary Staff Association of Nigeria (PASAN), Senate Deputy President Barau Jibrin said the action showed how committed the 10th National Assembly, led by Senate President Godswill Akpabio, was to staff welfare.
He claimed that because he was dedicated to the welfare of his personnel, he did not hesitate to approve the Senate President’s request for the buses to be provided.
