A university student has been detained by the Nigeria Security and Civil Defence Corps (NSCDC) in Bauchi for allegedly killing a 17-year-old kid by stabbing him to death in the state’s Misau Local Government Area.
The event happened on October 20, 2023, according to the Corps’ Commandant, Ilelaboye Oyejide, who confirmed the arrest on Sunday in Bauchi.
He claimed that the command had learned that Umar Usman, a secondary school student, had been found dead and his body had been wrapped in white cloth before being thrown along the Misau bypass.
He was delivered to the family for burial after being transferred to the General Hospital, Misau, where he was declared dead.
“This is a case of culpable homicide,” Oyejide declared, adding that Command sent intelligence agents to Misau to look into the incident and apprehend those responsible.

“One Abdullahi Ibrahim, a 500-level student of Veterinary Medicine at Ahmadu Bello University, Zaria, was detained following a series of investigations by the operatives.
“We discovered that the suspect and the dead had been communicating via chat.
“In the contact, we observed the suspect luring the dead man with homosexual love and showing him a photograph of himself in a bikini.
He claimed that the victim had been stabbed in the stomach when the dead went to meet him, wrapped in a white cloth, and dumped where he was discovered.
The suspect would face charges in court, said Oyejide. (NAN)
