The final-year student at the Federal University Dutse in Jigawa’s Department of Environmental Management and Toxicology also announced that he will shut down all of his social media accounts to concentrate on his upcoming final exams, which will start on Monday.

Adamu asked for the prayers of well-meaning Nigerians in a video posted on his Twitter account, @aminullahie, on Sunday in order to ace his final examinations.

“I would want to use this opportunity to thank the general public, the National Association of Nigerian Students (NANS), and the administration of Federal University, Dutse for their support, prayers, and assistance.

I also want to express my gratitude to Her Excellency Aisha Buhari, the First Lady of the Federal Republic of Nigeria and the mother of the country, for having the moral courage to forgive me and encourage me to make a positive change.
I’ll abide by what you said.

Because his examinations will start the next day and this would be his final semester and exam, he said that he had to delete all of his social media accounts.

Adamu was detained in November after it was claimed that he posted on social media criticizing Mrs. Buhari.

Adamu was subsequently charged on Tuesday and remanded in custody at the Suleja Correctional Center in Niger State after being arraigned before Justice Yusuf Halilu of the Federal Capital Territory High Court in Maitama. One of the witnesses scheduled to testify against the defendants was Mrs. Buhari.

Numerous people, including Amnesty International and other civil society organizations, called for Adamu’s release after his detention, which sparked a social media uproar.

With a statewide demonstration planned for Monday, December 5, 2022, NANS has denounced Adamu’s incarceration and demanded the unconditional release of one of their own.
