Stop bullying us on social media, the Supreme Court tells PDP

The Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) is accused by the Supreme Court of using social media to intimidate and terrorize its judges.

This was said by Justice Inyang Okoro of the Supreme Court in her ruling on the PDP’s plea to nullify the election of President-elect Bola Tinubu on the grounds that Kashim Shettima had engaged in double nominating himself.

The five-member panel dismissed the appeal and determined that the appellant lacked standing to bring the lawsuit.

According to Okoro, the appellant sought to deceive the Supreme Court by asserting that the lower court had determined that there had been a duplicate nomination. The appellant was also criticized for using social media, which was deemed “appalling and unprofessional” by Okoro.

Okoro declared: “The appellant’s deplorable and unprofessional use of social media to terrify and intimidate the judges of the supreme court is disgusting.

“The appeal is rejected because it lacks merit. I abide with the lead judgment’s cost award.
