Police operatives in Ebonyi have apprehended a man suspected of stealing a black Prado SUV in Abakaliki, the state capital.
The spokesperson for the command, DSP Joshua Ukandu, disclosed this information in a statement on Friday in Abakaliki.
Ukandu mentioned that the vehicle was owned by a customer of a car wash located in the Abakaliki shopping mall, where the suspect worked.
“The suspect was tracked to Mgbuka Obosi in Anambra state, where he planned to sell the vehicle. The vehicle has since been recovered,” he stated.

In a related development, the spokesperson announced that command operatives apprehended four suspects for allegedly conspiring to rob Kenneth Aluma of his Mercedes 300 car at gunpoint in Ndufu Alike Ikwo.
He stated that the suspects also robbed a man working with a POS machine, stealing N601,000 in cash and a Camon 19 Tecno phone.
According to the PPRO, the suspects were apprehended following meticulous intelligence efforts at Precious Guest House in Onicha within the Onicha Local Government Area. The operation led to the recovery of a vehicle and two locally-made firearms from their possession.
According to the police spokesman, charges will be brought against the suspects in court once the investigation is completed.
He mentioned that Mrs. Anthonia Uche-Anya, the state’s Commissioner of Police, had assured residents that the command would exhaust all efforts to guarantee their maximum security.
