Stepdaughter assaulted, Zamfara woman remanded

One Aisha Mustapha has been charged by the Zamfara State Government with aggravated violence against her 12-year-old stepdaughter, and she was arraigned before the Unguwar Gwaza High Shari’a court.

Aisha, a native of Tsafe town in Zamfara State’s Tsafe Local Government Area, appeared in court on Friday and was given a two-week remand order to Gusau prison.

According to court documents, the accused person allegedly exposed her stepdaughter to atrocities that made her life miserable, according to Sharia High Court judge Malam Surajo Usman.

The case was scheduled for reopening on December 28, 2023.
