Cross River State Governor Bassey Otu has ordered the Director of Administration, or DA, to take over as the head of the state audit division once again.
This comes after the governor gave the state Auditor-General, John Odey, the go-ahead to resign immediately.
Also instructed to turn over to the Director of Administration was Odey.
Additionally, the state’s Auditor General for Local Government, Mrs. Franca Inok, was fired by the governor over the weekend.
Through Mr. Oko Inaku, the head of the State Civil Service Commission, Otu issued the instructions.
“I have the Governor’s permission to ask you to proceed with your retirement with immediate effect,” he said.
Additionally, you are instructed to turn it right away to the director of administration. In a letter to the Auditor General, Okoh wrote.
The announcement also said that the Audit Department’s Director of Administration would lead the organization “until further notice.
Otu gave former political appointees of Governor Ben Ayade orders to leave government premises and turn up official cars on his second day in office.
The governor also abolished all governing bodies of parastatals, commissions, and agencies other from Statutory bodies, according to a statement signed by Dr. Innocent Eteng, Permanent Secretary in the General Administration Office of the Secretary to the State Government.
Upon expiry of their terms, he ordered all Local Government Council chairmen to turn over control to the appropriate Heads of Local Government Administration (HOLGAS) or Directors-General and Administration (DGSAS) of their respective Local Governments.
