Controversial singer Speed Darlington has been released on bail after his recent arrest, with speculations pointing to his ongoing feud with Burna Boy as a possible cause.
Nigerian singer and content creator Darlington Okoye, widely recognized as Speed Darlington, has been granted bail after being arrested last Friday in Lagos.
Darlington’s lawyer, Deji Adeyanju, confirmed the development after he met the bail conditions established by the Inspector General of Police Intelligence Response Team in Abuja.
Darlington was arrested following a petition by fellow musician Damini Ogulu, widely known as Burna Boy, who accused him of cyberstalking.
Despite the allegations, Adeyanju mentioned that upon reviewing the petition, there seemed to be insufficient grounds to justify detaining Darlington.

Prior to his release, Darlington was relocated multiple times across different police units in Lagos before being transferred to Abuja, where the bail conditions were finalized.
His mother, known as Queen, also made a heartfelt plea after learning about her son’s arrest from their gateman. She urged Burna Boy to help secure his release.
Nigerians, I need your help—my son Speed Darlington has been missing for over four days since he made a video about Burna Boy and Diddy.
“Burna Boy arrived at our house with his entourage and the police, leading to Akpi’s arrest. I implore you, fellow Nigerians—Akpi is my only son. Please help me urge Burna Boy to release him,” she pleaded.
