Alhassan Doguwa, the majority leader in the House of Representatives, has stated that he has the temperament to serve as Speaker of the 10th House of Representatives despite having four wives and 28 children.
Dogunwa, who announced his decision to run for Speaker on Wednesday in Abuja, claimed that those who believed him to be a guy with a volatile temper misunderstood him.
While his constituents do not view him as having a strong temperament, he claimed that others might.
The legislator emphasized that, to the best of his knowledge, he is a lowly and humble person.
“I am a low-level Nigerian and I will always present myself as such,” Doguwa declared. Those who describe me as having a strong sense of temperament are misreading me, in my opinion and by my standards.
“The guy who lives with four women and 28 children, and I’ve never divorced anyone. It is merely a false impression. If anybody of my disposition or social standing says otherwise, it can only be a misconception, oversight, or lack of sufficient understanding.
When asked about the suspected murder charge against him, Doguwa said he didn’t want to talk too much because the case is already in court.
The congressman said he thought the presumption of innocence applies to him until he or she is proven guilty, and that it has no bearing on his decision to run for a job for which he is confident in his qualifications.
