Why Nnamdi Kanu will be unconditionally released Sowore Nnamdi Kanu in court.

The Indigenous People of Biafra’s incarcerated leader, Nnamdi Kanu, is a political prisoner, according to African Action Congress presidential candidate Omoyele Sowore.

Kanu would be freed, according to the AAC standard-bearer, and he only “needs a leader that respects the rule of law.”

As far as I’m concerned, Kanu is a political prisoner and will be released immediately. It’s not just me who has this feeling. Sowore remarked that we only need a leader who respects the rule of law, noting that our court has ruled that Kanu has no case to answer.

Sowore spoke on a popular stand-up comedy show hosted online by Ayodeji Makun, also known as AY. The AY Show with Sowore was the name of the Thursday night programme.

Sowore was answering a query regarding his views on Kanu from a member of the internet audience.

Remember that on October 13, 2022, the Court of Appeal in Abuja freed and released Kanu, ruling that his kidnapping from Kenya to Nigeria was unconstitutional and unlawful and that the Federal Government’s whole terrorism case against him was dismissed.

The Federal Government’s forced rendition of Kanu to Nigeria, according to the appellate court, violated all national and international laws, rendering the terrorism allegations against him inadmissible and illegal.

In the meantime, the Federal Government quickly responded to Kanu’s discharge by stating that he had just been discharged and had not been found not guilty by the Attorney General of the Federation and Minister of Justice, Abubakar Malami.

Following this, the Federal Government appealed the Court of Appeal’s decision clearing Kanu of all charges and releasing him, requesting a stay of execution.

The FG’s new lawsuit was heard by the appellate court, which then granted a stay of execution, stopping the discharge of Kanu. The IPOB legal team thereafter challenged this decision in the Supreme Court.
