Sowore Denies Cybercrime Charges, Pleads Not Guilty in Court

Activist Omoyele Sowore has pleaded not guilty to cybercrime charges linked to his criticism of the Inspector General of Police. Follow the latest developments in this high-profile case.

Omoyele Sowore, who is both an activist and politician, has pleaded not guilty to the cybercrime charges filed against him at the Federal High Court in Abuja.

Kayode Egbetokun, the Inspector General of Police, filed charges against Sowore for referring to him as an “illegal IGP.”

Sowore had posted the remark on his verified account on X.

Nevertheless, the activist is undergoing trial before Justice Liman at the FCT High Court and appeared in court around 10:00 am when the charges were presented to him.

Upon hearing the charges, Sowore entered a plea of not guilty to each one.

Meanwhile, a number of his supporters held a protest in front of the court regarding Sowore’s arraignment.
