The Nigerian Armed Forces and other sister organisations have received praise from the South-East Women Professionals located in Anambra for their efforts to enhance the security situation in the region.
This is stated in a statement that was made accessible to newsmen in Abuja on Saturday and co-signed by the group’s president, Mrs. Ijeoma Okafor, and secretary, Princess Ada Udi.
The organisation credited Gen. Christopher Musa, the Chief of Defence Staff (CDS), and the efforts of the Armed Forces for the success.
According to the group, “The CDS is fully committed to the restoration of peace nationwide, especially in the South-East region.”
The statement recognised the remarkable improvement seen as initially grounded business activity in the zone eventually recovered.
In order to maintain long-term peace and stability in the area, the organisation also pleaded for the people’ cooperation and understanding with the security agencies.
“We cannot help but applaud the Armed Forces and their current commanders for the improvement in the South-East region’s security situation.
“Criminals who were attempting to traumatise the zone’s peace-loving residents converted it into a battle zone.
“The AFN troops’ continued clearance operations are a positive development as life is progressively getting back to normal.
The organisation continued, “We, therefore, ask the locals to assist and cooperate with the military in order to restore peace and stability in the region. (NAN)
