Travel time between Lagos State and Abuja, according to Minister of Works Dave Umahi, will soon be cut to four hours thanks to the proposed Lagos 4th Mainland Bridge Supersonic Highway.

During his visit to the states of Ogun and Oyo as part of his highway inspection tour, Umahi revealed this.

This was said in a statement released on Friday by Blessing Lere-Adams, the director of his ministry’s press and public relations unit.

The statement claims that Umahi informed Ogun State Governor Dapo Abiodun that the proposed Lagos 4th Mainland Bridge Supersonic Highway would require four hours to go from Lagos to Abuja.

“We gave the consultant a presentation on it yesterday, and the topic will be Public Private Partnership (PPP).” We are coming to a conclusion on it within one or two months, and work will begin. Driving from Lagos to Abuja will take four hours.

Highway Development Management Initiative (HDMI) is a programme that enables states and other private investors to work with the federal government to either take over a road that has already been built, toll it, and maintain it together, or to take a brand-new road, reconstruct it, and toll it in accordance with established agreements.
