In his remarks, the former governor of the Central Bank of Nigeria acknowledged the honour and privilege of receiving the accolade.

Professor Chukwuma Soludo, the former governor of Anambra State, is currently the APGA’s national leader.

At a meeting of the party’s National Executive Committee (NEC) on Friday in Awka, the capital of Anambra State, Soludo, who was third in line to become president, was chosen by a voice vote.

In his remarks, the APGA National Leader accepted the honour and privilege, stating that he feels the weight of history, including that of the nation’s ancestors who lived progressive lives.

He says that APGA is the first political party to be registered with the name “progressives,” and that it has become the place where progressives get together.

His predecessors, the late Dim Chukwuemeka Odumegwu Ojukwu and former Governor Willie Obiano, received beautiful honours from him.

Soludo said he would work closely with all APGA supporters and invite all honest progressives to make APGA their home so they could help the party grow and provide honest progressive leadership in Nigeria at the right time.
