The people of the state of Anambra are being urged by Governor Chukwuma Soludo to constantly make time for physical activity in the sake of their health.
At the Awka Township Stadium on Saturday, Soludo led more than 1,000 locals in a monthly walk sponsored by the Anambra State Sports Development Commission.
“Solution Walk For Healthy Living” is the title of the monthly walk.
The governor claimed that regular exercise is a less expensive approach to maintain excellent health than visiting a hospital to receive medical attention.
He declared that his administration is committed to developing a healthy population and pledged to lead the walk at least one Saturday every month.
“We’ll make this a regular thing, and I’ll be here to walk with you at least one Saturday a month,” she said.
“A healthy youth, healthy women, healthy adult, and healthy senior citizen population makes healthy nation,” he stated.
Soludo praised the corps members who showed up in large numbers for participating in the exercise and asked them to adopt the Anambra spirit of grit and initiative.
Develop a passion as a corps member, pick up some marketable talents, and you’ll quickly start to create value and hire people.
About 100 corps members are enrolled in our “one youth twoWwoWwww” initiative; I urge you to continue because in Anambra, we develop people in a sustainable manner.
Patrick-Estate Onyedum, the head of the Anambra State Sports Development Commission, congratulated Soludo for approving the plan and showing his passion for sports by empathising with the populace.
Subject to the governor’s approval, Onyedum promised to make succeeding editions bigger, better, and rotated around the state’s major cities.
He congratulated attendees for showing up in large numbers to walk with the governor and urged them to make it a habit on an individual basis.
“The turnout today was impressive, about 1,000 people, and we hope to hit 10,000 soon as we progress because, with Mr. Governor’s approval, it is now a monthly affair,” he stated.(NAN)
