Soldiers Successfully Rescue Abducted NYSC Member and Eight Others in Delta
The military task force in the Niger Delta, Operation Delta Safe, reported that its soldiers successfully rescued nine individuals who were kidnapped by armed individuals on March 29 along the Ugheli-Patani axis of the East-West road.
The commander of the military force in the Niger Delta, John Okeke, verified this information to the News Agency of Nigeria on Monday evening, mentioning that 10 suspected kidnappers were apprehended during the rescue mission, which included a member of the National Youth Service Corps (NYSC) and a Navy rating.
Okeke emphasized the commitment of the Joint Task Force South Operation Delta Safe (OPDS) to safeguarding lives and property in the Niger Delta region, praising the troops for their bravery and dedication in the successful rescue operation.
He cautioned criminal elements in the area to cease their unlawful activities, assuring that the troops would spare no effort in creating a secure environment for the protection of individuals and assets within the region.
Additionally, Okeke encouraged the public to share any relevant information regarding criminal behavior in their communities with security agencies to aid in maintaining peace and security.
