Soldiers capture six suspected kidnappers, refuse N2m bribe in Taraba
Six individuals suspected of involvement in kidnapping activities have been successfully apprehended by the troops of 6 Brigade, Nigerian Army, in Taraba State.
The Acting Assistant Director of 6 Brigade Army Public Relations, Lieutenant Oni Olubodunde, disclosed that the suspects were captured in separate operations conducted within the state.
Acting on intelligence received, troops from the 93 Battalion Sub-Sector 3B OPWS, stationed at Forward Operating Base Wukari, executed a meticulously planned raid in Chinkai village of Wukari Local Government Council.
This operation resulted in the arrest of two suspects, Usman Gide Ali, aged 25, and Abdulrahaman Amadu, aged 28, who were both on the radar of security agencies for their roles in various kidnapping incidents in Wukari and its environs.

Following their apprehension, the suspects reportedly attempted to bribe the troops with 2 million Naira in exchange for their freedom.
Moreover, they were overheard discussing resorting to armed tactics if monetary bribes failed to secure their release.
In a separate operation carried out in Ibi Local Government Area, troops stationed at Sarikin Kudu successfully detained four additional suspected kidnappers.
These suspects, identified as Jafaru Banyi, aged 28, Mohammad Ardo, aged 25, Amadu Lawal Shatta, aged 20, and Biyu Ardu, aged 25, have been linked to several high-profile abduction cases in the region.
