The Indigenous People of Biafra, or IPOB, and its groups have been warned by the Pan-Nigerian President of the Igbo Extraction Coalition, or PANPIEC, that multiple sit-ins will prevent Ndigbo from winning the presidency in 2023.

This is stated in a statement that the group’s chairman, Rev. Obinna Akukwe, and secretary, Dr. Pat Anyanwu, jointly signed on Friday.

They claimed that angry politicians will exploit the rumoured sit-at-home protest on February 24 to downplay Igbo presidency aspirations and create the impression that South-East voters are eager for Biafra.

“PANPIEC is aware that some members of the Strategy Team are working covertly on Nnamdi Kanu’s release; the specifics of their work will remain confidential.”

The Igbo Presidency Project is thereby being demarketed on several levels with each additional sit-at-home.

In order to allow the thronging Igbo youth to do their civic duties, PANPIEC encourages Simon Ekpa, commander of IPOB auto-pilot, to shelve his Biafra agitations till after the 2023 elections.

“Igbo cannot concurrently want both Biafra and the presidency.

“PANPIEC issues a final warning that the indiscriminate stay-at-home puts fear into the hearts of other stakeholders in the north who are supportive of the Igbo Presidency.

According to the group, “PANPIEC has received hundreds of inquiries from concerned northern electors concerning Ndigbo’s position on Biafra and warns that all rumours of war are destabilising the Igbo Presidency Project.”
