Sister of Naira Marley protests the singer’s imprisonment

Shubomi, the sister of troubled artist Azeez Fashola, popularly known as Naira Marley, has expressed outrage over what she claims to be human rights violations committed by her brother.

Prior to this, a Magistrate Court placed Naira Marley and her companion Sam Larry under arrest until the inquiry into Mohbad’s death was concluded.

With a pledge that the injustice MohBad supposedly endured at the hands of Naira Matrley would not go unpunished, internet users have persisted in demanding justice for his death.

Shubomi bemoaned the circumstances in an Instagram post on Saturday, saying that her brother’s prolonged arrest is primarily intended to placate the people and that there is no proof linking him to Mohbad’s death.

Retaining her brother for this long in the absence of proof, Shubomi continued, is against his human rights.

“It is a violation of his human rights to keep someone who voluntarily travelled back to help in detention for nearly 30 days without any charge, no evidence, or enough witnesses,” the author stated. It’s absurd to keep him detained in order to please social media and the online mob.

“Chart him if you have proof against him for any of the accusations made against him! However, if you don’t let him go. The probe shouldn’t take this long to complete.

“Everyone seeks the truth! Everybody wants justice. What’s the hold-up? Justice will not be served by seeking to lynch another person after we have already lost one.
