A tragic event unfolded in Kaduna as a 16-year-old boy was buried alive by his own siblings in a dispute over a missing phone.

Abubakar, a 16-year-old boy from Zaria in Kaduna State, was tragically buried alive by his two older siblings after an argument arose regarding a lost phone. The event caused great distress and unease for those involved.

The community has been deeply shocked by this startling event, which has ignited widespread fury.

Police caught the two siblings, one aged 22 and the other 18, when a kind passerby discovered Abubakar with just his head showing from an opening on an abandoned plot of land.

According to witnesses present at the time of arrest, there had been a dispute over a lost phone in Abuja that caused problems leading up to this event.

In Zaria they then cruelly sought revenge by stalking and eventually torturing him through burial while still alive.

Hajiya Rabi Salisu, the Commissioner of Human Services and Social Development in Kaduna State, described a terrifying event where a young boy named Abubakar was buried alive by his own brothers over an allegedly stolen phone.

According to her account, they tied up the victim’s hands behind his back before gagging him and burying him underground with only his head left exposed under some rags next to an abandoned property near a farm.

This sort of experience is something that she personally has never witnessed outside of fictional movies.

Abubakar’s condition improved when a kind passerby heard him coughing and promptly sounded the alert. Nearby farmers also came to aid, saving the boy in no time.

The rescue footage garnered overwhelming backlash and demands for justice after it spread across social media platforms.

The two brothers have been officially arrested and admitted to the offense, as confirmed by the police. Mansir Hassan, spokesman for Kaduna State Police Command informed that they are currently detained and will be prosecuted shortly.

Following the appalling occurrence, an official statement was released by the Kaduna State Ministry of Human Services and Social Development denouncing the act in unequivocal terms.

The Ministry has given its word to ensure that justice is served and that all citizens’ rights and well-being are resolutely safeguarded, especially those of children.

According to Commissioner Hajiya Rabi Salisu, the Ministry’s Social Officer responsible for Zaria has paid a visit to the community in order to evaluate the situation and provide assistance as needed.

Additionally, it was emphasized that close attention will be given by the Ministry throughout each step of this case within legal proceedings.

The sobering occurrence highlights the significance of protecting children’s rights and guaranteeing timely and equitable dispensation of justice.

The commitment of the Kaduna State Government to uphold these principles remains unwavering, guaranteeing that perpetrators of violent acts will face justice.
