In Polling Unit 075 in the Iyana-Isashi neighbourhood of Lagos State, hoodlums thought to be political thugs are said to have stolen vote boxes.
Residents claim that the event interfered with the area’s current elections for governor and state legislature.
Collins Michael, a voter who had already cast his ballot before the event, told the Daily Trust that the thugs had arrived in large groups and had taken the ballot boxes while gunfire was going on.
“We were voting in peace until we heard ruckus coming from the bus stop,” he claimed. As motorcycle-riding thugs arrived to scatter this crowd, people began to flee. When we fled for safety, they seized the voting boxes and vanished.
Military troops murdered thugs who were trying to sabotage polls in Gboko South, Benue State, according to an earlier report by Obasanjonews24.
