Governor Bala Mohammed advises President Tinubu to evaluate and restructure his cabinet, emphasizing the need to eliminate inefficiencies and enhance governance.

Bauchi State Governor Bala Mohammed, who also serves as the Chairman of the PDP Governors’ Forum, has called on President Bola Tinubu to eliminate what he refers to as “excess baggage” from his administration.

Governor Mohammed stated that although governors trust the President’s leadership, certain cabinet members’ actions are hindering his efforts.

He stated that the President needs to “discard the excess baggage,” highlighting the importance of taking decisive action.

Speaking as the special guest at the inauguration of the 14.1km Umuakali-Eberi Road in Omuma Local Government Area, Rivers State, Governor Mohammed made his remarks.

He emphasized that the priority in different states should be on governance instead of politics.

He praised Rivers State Governor Siminalayi Fubara for providing effective governance despite facing political challenges, and expressed confidence in the Governor’s leadership abilities.

He mentioned that based on his observations, he is no longer concerned about Governor Fubara’s performance or the public’s perception of his administration.

Governor Mohammed also commended Governor Fubara’s calmness and maturity in managing the state’s political crisis, attributing these qualities to his remarkable character and leadership style.

He commented that Fubara demonstrates how political maturity isn’t determined by years spent in politics.

The Governor of Bauchi State also urged politicians to know when it’s time to step down and let the younger generation take charge. He remarked that due to Governor Fubara’s accomplishments, he should be seen more as a “field marshal” rather than just a “general.”

He encouraged the people of Rivers to back Fubara for a second term in 2027.

In his speech, Governor Siminalayi Fubara conveyed his appreciation to the people of Omuma for their steadfast support, particularly during the height of the political crisis in the state.

He credited the smooth functioning of his administration to the collaborative efforts of everyone involved and the support from key political leaders.

He highlighted the Umuakali-Eberi Road project as crucial for their development and expressed gratitude to Governor Bala Mohammed for accepting his invitation to inaugurate the project.

Governor Fubara reaffirmed his dedication to meeting his campaign promises, highlighting that he prioritizes cultivating skilled men and women to spearhead swift development over advancing individual interests.

Governor Fubara, as part of his developmental agenda, announced his intention to assume control over the revitalization of the secondary school and healthcare center in the area from Local Government Chairman Promise Reginald.

He also promised to rebuild more roads in the area, reinforcing his commitment to providing effective governance.
