Shina Peters Reveals Journey to Becoming Bishop of C&S Church
Legendary musician Sir Shina Peters shares the inspiring story behind his elevation as a bishop in the Cherubim and Seraphim Church, blending music and ministry.
Legendary Afro-Juju musician Sir Shina Peters announced on Friday that his ordination as a bishop fulfilled a divine calling.
In 2021, Shina Peters was consecrated as a bishop at the Cherubim and Seraphim Church of God located in Lagos State’s Iju area.
In an interview with the News Agency of Nigeria in Lagos, the musician shared that the church leadership received a divine mandate concerning his ordination.
He revealed that the guidance, imparted to the church leaders through divine means, was given years prior to his accepting ordination.
He stated that the Almighty God revealed to him that he should become the first bishop of the Cherubim and Seraphim Church of God, and he communicated this message to the church leaders.
God mentioned this because I am the sole musician who has consistently incorporated hymns into my music and performances, leading many souls to Christ.
“I attempted to delay the ordination for some time, but eventually God intervened and set me on the right path.”
Looking back on his career, Peters expressed gratitude for his progress and thanked God for guiding him throughout the years.
I feel complete and satisfied. My sole request to my Creator is for continued enlightenment through His word and the grace to draw nearer to Him.
I have no requests at the moment, other than to keep expressing gratitude to God for my achievements through His grace.
Reflecting on those who began this journey with me and are no longer here, I feel a deep sense of gratitude to my creator.
He said, “Regarding what my fans can expect, I’ll just say they should anticipate something unusual very soon.”
