The construction of 1,000 homes in the states of Sokoto, Kebbi, Katsina, Zamfara, Kaduna, Niger, and Benue has been given the president’s approval, according to Vice President Kashim Shettima on Friday.
In a statement, Mr. Olusola Abiola, Director of Information, Office of the Vice President, said Shettima made this declaration at the commissioning of projects carried out by the Borno State Government in the previous 100 days.
The housing developments were a component of a larger federal government strategy to resolve disputes in the north, according to the vice president.
Shettima also disclosed that Tinubu had granted N50 billion for the National Emergency Management Agency (NEMA) to launch the Pulaku initiative, a non-kinetic response to the situation the people of the northwest were facing.
“President Tinubu has approved the construction of 1,000 houses with all ancillary facilities, including schools, clinics, veterinary clinics, and ranches, in the states of Sokoto, Kebbi, Katsina, Zamfara, Kaduna, Niger, and Benue for the Fulani community.”
He said: “President Tinubu requested that all the victims must be transported along.
According to the Vice President, President Tinubu’s efforts to advance development will be felt throughout the entire nation.
Shettima also mentioned that the federal government intended to restart the nation’s wheat harvest.
President Tinubu was said to be aware of the problems Nigerians were facing and would work to resolve them.
We will deal with the problems Nigerians are facing. To make things right, we’ll utilise every vehicle we have. The president of this country, Mr. Tinubu, has the best of intentions for it and is committed to turning around the country’s situation.
Tinubu has a great deal of compassion for those in society who are less fortunate. The unfortunate circumstances we are in led the administration to make some difficult decisions.
Be certain that this government will introduce a number of initiatives and activities that will have a significant impact on many people’s lives in the upcoming weeks and months, Shettima stated.
He praised Borno’s governor, Babagana Zulum, for his leadership and vision, especially for how he was able to address the needs of the populace.
“He is currently our leader, governor, and brother, which is an incredibly lucky development for us. My friendship with Governor Zulum is excellent.
“In contemporary Nigeria, we have established ourselves as the standard for managing the connection between a successor and predecessor.
He emphasised, “I want to thank him for all the sympathy and encouragement and most importantly for putting Borno first.
The Shuwari ll Community School and Healthcare Centre was one of 77 new projects finished during the first 100 days of Zulum’s administration.
Shettima also gave the go-ahead for the establishment of the Alikaramti Community School and the Gamboru Liberty Day Secondary School, both located within the Maiduguri metropolis.
During the commissioning of projects completed by the State government within 100 days, he was hailed by an exuberant throng, especially schoolchildren.
Shettima went to the palace of the Shehu of Borno earlier after arriving in Maiduguri to pay respects.
Sen. Abubakar Kyari, the agriculture minister, as well as some representatives from the National and State Assemblies were with him.
The Deputy Governors of Borno, Gombe, and Taraba States also travelled with the Vice President to the palace. (NAN)
