Shettima Remains Hopeful Naira Will Sustain Appreciation Against Dollar
Vice President Kashim Shettima expressed confidence in the continuous appreciation of the nation’s currency, the naira, against the dollar, which currently stands at around N1,200 to a dollar in the parallel market after a period of decline.
Shettima emphasized his belief that the positive trend of the naira’s value is far from reaching a halt, attributing it to effective leadership that can reverse unfavorable economic patterns.
Referring to the leadership qualities of former Lagos State Governor Asiwaju Tinubu, Shettima highlighted the importance of generating employment opportunities for the youth and striving for national development to leave a lasting legacy of quality leadership.
Shettima reiterated the significance of President Tinubu’s understanding of the people’s needs and aspirations, emphasizing the collective responsibility to work towards a prosperous future for Nigeria and Africa as a whole.
The executive members condemned the actions of an NNPP member who falsely claimed to have suspended certain individuals within the party, calling for legal action against the group for impersonation and attempts to sow discord within the party, and urging party members to remain united and focused on the party’s goals.
