Shehu Sani Explains Heavy Security Presence at Kano Palace

Shehu Sani, a former senator who represented Kaduna Central in the national assembly, has suggested possible reasons for the escalating tension at the Kano Emir’s palace.
Tension heightened early on Friday morning when police officers equipped with advanced gear surrounded the Emir of Kano’s palace, beginning as early as 6 a.m.
understood that the situation might be related to Emir Muhammadu Sanusi’s plans to appoint a district head for Bichi town.
In a post on X, he expressed that “for the sake of peace, it is important to exercise significant restraint in using force, strength, and authority concerning the Kano emirship conflict.”
This isn’t the first time the Kano emirship has been involved in controversy.
Remember that in May, former Emir Aminu Ado Bayero was deposed by Governor Abba Yusuf while he was out of town. He was replaced with Muhammadu Sanusi II, the 16th Emir who returned to power and swiftly relocated to the Kofar Kudu palace.
Later, Bayero came back to the state and took up residence at the Nassarawa mini palace. This move led to court cases being filed both in support of and against the decision made by the state government.
