Shehu Sani expresses gratitude to Bill Gates for his extensive humanitarian services and contributions to Nigeria.
Shehu Sani, the ex senator representing Kaduna Central has applauded Bill Gates for his humanitarian endeavors as he currently works towards improving Nigeria’s health sector.
On Tuesday, Sani praised the billionaire on his X account.
Despite making significant philanthropic contributions amounting to hundreds of millions of dollars in Nigeria over the years, Bill Gates has been subjected to a barrage of accusations, doubts and criticisms rather than being recognized for his efforts. He willingly selected Nigeria as the location for his charitable endeavors but unfortunately faced numerous conspiracy theories along the way.
“Is Bill Gates a friend or foe?” was the initial question. The following sentence discusses how a German Coach declined an offer to lead Nigeria’s Super Eagles and cited reasons for doing so, which ultimately reflects poorly on our country’s reputation.

Do we show gratitude to Mr. Gates for believing in us and staying committed? Our nation has been tarnished on a global level as a hub of cyber criminals, drug smugglers, and money launderers. Despite these negative labels associated with our country, Mr. Gates maintains his belief in our potential by choosing us as an investment destination.
Although some countries have imposed visa bans or deported our citizens, and others deny entry visas to them which has damaged our international reputation, Mr. Gates still chose to visit our country.
Despite economic and security reasons causing multinational companies to withdraw from Nigeria, Mr. Gates remains unfazed and committed to staying with us. While other billionaire entrepreneurs have chosen countries in Africa, Asia or Latin America, Gates has demonstrated loyalty by staying put here within our community.
Mr. Gates and his foundation, for almost two decades, have been stepping in to address issues related to education, health and infrastructure within a number of our communities.
Despite many US billionaires selecting South Africa, Gates decided to go for Nigeria. However, despite this decision and support he has received some criticism and backlash.
