The well-known singer Crown Uzama, also known as Shallipopi, has disclosed that Rema, a colleague, encouraged him and other Edo State artists to have faith in their own abilities.
He claimed that the crooner of “Calm Down” was a ray of hope for them.
In a recent episode of The Zero Conditions podcast, the singer—who was born in Benin—spoke.

“As a place, Benin, none of us get hope to blow,” he remarked. We believed that only people living in Lagos and Abuja could become famous musicians. We didn’t think that we would ever be in the spotlight. He didn’t know that Benin musicians might also become famous until Rema arrived and D’Prince signed him to Jonzing World. Hope is present. We go fit cross over if Rema crosses over.
“We were keeping an eye on Rema when he travelled to Lagos. He has our undying admiration. He’s aware. We’ve been following him since his social media debut with freestyle videos, through the release of his trap EP, to his current ascent. It was thanks to him that we now have optimism that we can succeed.
