Tragic floods in northern Sudan have led to the deaths of at least 31 people, with many more affected by the devastating impact of the natural disaster.
Dozens have lost their lives and hundreds of homes collapsed as floodwaters ravaged numerous communities and villages across northern Sudan in the last two days.
The floods in the north of Sudan have resulted in 31 fatalities, as stated by Qureshi Hussein, a spokesperson for the country’s Civil Defense.
Due to circumstances beyond his control, Yassin Abdul Wahab had no choice but to construct a makeshift dwelling for himself and his family after being displaced from their home.

He said that the situation is very bad, and people are sleeping in the streets.
“He added that at present, we’re occupied with constructing a shelter for the family by utilizing materials obtained from the ruined house.”
According to officials, over 317,000 individuals have been affected by the heavy rainfall and subsequent flooding occurring throughout Sudan this month.
One of the world’s largest displacement crises, attributed to ongoing warfare in a country, has been further intensified as 118,000 individuals have been displaced.
It has been 500 days since Sudan was thrown into conflict due to the eruption of combat between its military faction, the Sudanese Armed Forces and Rapid Support Forces (RSF).
