Emergency services are battling a fire that has engulfed a seven-storey building in Lagos, with efforts underway to control the flames.
On Friday morning, a fire occurred at a building with seven floors situated on Sanni Adewale Street in the Lagos Island Local Government Area.
Around 5:17 a.m. the occurrence was reported, prompting quick mobilization of Lagos State Fire and Rescue Service to attend to it.

At 5:33 a.m, Margaret Adeseye, Director of the Lagos State Fire and Rescue Service provided an update on X.com regarding the arrival of firefighters from Ebute Elefun, Sari, and Lekki 1 stations.
The fire has been brought under control as confirmed by Adeseye, and thankfully no injuries have been documented.
Preliminary results indicate that an electrical surge could have triggered the fire. Presently, attention is directed towards ventilation measures aimed at securing the safety of nearby locations.
