The families of the seven employees killed by bandits in Kaduna State received employment letters from the Nigeria Security and Civil Defence Corps (NSCDC) on Tuesday.
According to the News Agency of Nigeria (NAN), on January 23, 2023, seven NSCDC Kaduna Command employees were attacked and slain by bandits while performing their official duties in the state’s Birnin Gwari Local Government Area.
The NSCDC Commandant in Kaduna State, Mr. Idris Adah, gave the families the job letters on Tuesday.
According to Adah, the gesture was made in fulfilment of the pledge given to the relatives of the deceased by Commandant General Mr. Ahmed Audi.
“Today, I’m happy to share with you the CG’s good gesture of giving the appointment letters to the surviving relatives of the deceased officers.
“This is in fulfilment of the CG’s promise to the family; however, this cannot replace the lives of our loved ones,” he continued.
Adah thus changed the recipients to do their best and honourably and dignifiedly represent their families.
According to the commander, the Corps is still dedicated to upholding its duty to safeguard important national resources.
Adah stated, “We are fighting crime in the state around-the-clock with other security agencies so that we can all go to sleep at night.”
He issued a warning that anyone found damaging important national assets will face arrest and legal action.
Speaking on their behalf, Alhaji Baba Audi-Landan thanked the CG for keeping their commitment.
He claimed that not only would their appointments benefit their families, but also society as a whole.
