According to the Ogun State Police command, seven people kidnapped by gunmen in the Fidiwo region of the Lagos-Ibadan motorway have been freed.
After searching the region for four days, the victims were found unharmed, according to the authorities.
According to information obtained by Obasanjo News24, the gunmen—roughly nine in number—attacked motorists travelling along the motorway, kidnapping seven of them, murdering one, and wounding several others.

For security reasons, the victim, who wished to remain anonymous, claimed that on Monday, the shooters attacked them in the midst of gunfire that would not stop.
“The attack happened at approximately 5:45 p.m.; two of the nine gunmen, who were dressed in military camouflage, halted our car. My mother and father were among the seven people they took into the forest.
The victim stated, “One of the two women who was trying to escape was shot by the gunmen and died.”
The Police Public Relations Officer, PPRO, Ogun Command, Omolola Odutola, provided an update on the kidnapping event, stating that all seven victims were rescued unharmed and that one of the kidnappers was apprehended.
According to Odutola, the kidnappers were compelled to release their captives following a four-day police and other security agency assault.
A 35-year-old lady who was riding in another car was shot by the assailants. After being taken to the hospital quickly, she is currently responding to medical attention.
“Another woman who was shot dead by the kidnappers while attempting to flee has been found,” Odutola said, whose body has not yet been recognised.
