The Senate Committee on Navy has announced that, within the next week, it will look into the facts and problems surrounding the controversial Presidential boat.

The probe was started in response to the growing scandal over the purchase of a yacht, according to a statement sent by Senator Gbenga Daniel’s media office.

The statement states that “uncovering the facts, dispelling uncertainties, and providing the public with an accurate and comprehensive understanding of the situation” is the probe’s main goal.

The Committee decided to visit all naval facilities in the nation in addition to conducting the investigation. They also decided to give priority to the welfare and training of naval veterans and personnel, and they emphasised the need for increased funding to enable the Nigerian Navy to fulfil its vital role in the security and economy of the country.

The Committee also decided to support naval research and development organisations, modernise the Nigerian Navy’s fleet, and improve its operational capabilities.

Many Nigerians have been criticising the presidency for being insensitive ever since information about the planned purchase of the Presidential Yacht was disclosed to the public.

Since it was initially revealed in the media, the controversy surrounding the possible purchase of the yacht has attracted a lot of attention.

Concerns and criticisms over the inclusion of such a luxury item in the Supplementary Budget have been expressed by many Nigerians, many of whom have expressed dissatisfaction.
