The Senate said on Tuesday that the Independent National Electoral Commission, or INEC, would not be forgiven for not running the next general elections in a trustworthy way.

The Red Chamber even showed that the executive branch and the legislature worked together to get the money and supplies needed for elections to go smoothly.

During plenary, Senate President Ahmad Lawan also asked the electoral umpire to make sure that the election will be less controversial and more acceptable to Nigerians of all political stripes.

Excuses “will not be condoned,” he said, because INEC has received everything it requested from the legislature to help hold a credible election.

Lawan also said that security services have promised to make sure voting goes smoothly so people can use their right to vote.

So, he told Nigerians to get their PVCs during the time INEC gave them to do so, so they could exercise their right to vote.

He made it clear that the 2023 election was meant to change the country’s future. People will be voting for leaders at the national, state, and local levels.
