Senate Confirms SEC Director-General and Three Additional Commissioners
The nominations of President Bola Tinubu to be the Executive Commissioners and Director General of the Security and Exchange Commission (SEC) were approved by the Nigerian Senate on Thursday.
The Senate accepted a report that the Committee on Capital Market, led by Senator Osita Izunaso of the Imo West Senatorial District, had submitted to the Committee of Whole.
Izunaso stated that all nominees were judged to be qualified and educationally sound to serve in the SEC after a comprehensive investigation by the Committee, which was conducted in accordance with the mission that was submitted to them.
“Their expertise in the field lends support to the necessity of involving them,” he stated.
