The Senate has officially approved the nomination of Lieutenant General Olufemi Oluyede for the position of Chief of Army Staff.
This confirmation occurred after the Senate committee on Army, chaired by Senator Abdulaziz Musa Yar’adua of Katsina Central, presented its reports for consideration.
The upper chamber unanimously endorsed the committee’s recommendations.
Lieutenant General Oluyede had been serving in an acting capacity as Chief of Army Staff following the illness and eventual passing of Lt. Gen. Taoreed Abiodun Lagbaja.
