The Nigerian Senate has passed the 2025 budget, totaling N54.9 trillion, as the government outlines its financial plans for the year.

On Thursday, the Nigerian Senate approved the N54.9 trillion budget for 2025 during a plenary session led by Senate President Godswill Akpabio.

This occurs two months following the presentation of the budget to both Chambers of the National Assembly on December 18, 2024.

However, it was noted that President Bola Ahmed Tinubu presented the National Assembly with a sum of N47.9 trillion.

In recent weeks, the budget underwent legislative scrutiny, during which lawmakers adjusted it from its original amount of N47.9 trillion to N54.9 trillion.
