The Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) resignation of Chukwuka Utazi, a former senator from Enugu-North, has been explained.

According to Utazi, the reason he left the PDP was that the “ideals that attracted him to the party have receded into oblivion.”

The state’s Nkpologu Ward Chairman, Chief Robert Ezeagu, received the Senator’s letter of resignation on Sunday. The Senator served as the district’s representative from 2015 to 2023.

The letter says, “I have the honour of resigning from my membership in the People’s Democratic Party, of which I was a founding member upon its founding in 1998, with reservation.

The reason for this is because the party’s original ideals have since faded into obscurity, giving me little choice but to leave and join another that will provide me more opportunities to contribute to the growth of the country and operate to the fullest.

I therefore send my best wishes to everyone of you as you keep up your hard work to make ends meet in the most efficient manner feasible given the current situation. So far, I appreciate your cooperation and understanding.
