Senator Danladi Abdullahi Sankara, a former chairman of the Senate Committee on Information and National Communication, has urged Nigerians to support the Nigerian project with unwavering patriotism and to have faith in it in order for it to achieve the level of nation that is appropriate for it.
In a discussion with journalists in Abuja on Wednesday, Senator Sankara, who served as Jigawa North-West’s senator in the 7th and 9th senatorial sessions, made the appeal.
According to the wealth of resources and potential Nigeria possesses, it may not be where it should be at 63, but it is a working project that requires the trust and patriotism of all Nigerians in all capacities.
The unity of her people over the past 63 years, the amazing progress it has made throughout the various sectors, and the residents’ continued belief in her greatness are proof that the Nigeria Project is succeeding.
“Nigeria has achieved a lot, even though not enough in our historical 63 years of political independence, but a lot of gains have been made and a lot of prospects for progress have been available in all facets of national development value chain,” he emphasised.
With a focus on the welfare and security of the populace at all levels, Sankara argued that administration and governance must be taken very seriously in order for the mission to succeed.
But by giving the leaders frank and practical advice, he encouraged Nigerians to support the government.
For Nigeria to advance as quickly as hoped, he continued, “We must take ownership of our shortcomings and re-strategize to provide people-oriented credible public service leadership.”
He asserts that everyone must embrace the “Renewed Hope Agenda” of President Bola Tinubu and Vice President Kashim Shettima in order to bring about the desired transformation that would improve the lives and wellbeing of all Nigerians.
