Three alleged bandit commanders have been slain by security personnel in the Jibia Local Government Area of Kwakare, Katsina State. Conversely, several bandits managed to flee with varied levels of gunshot injuries.
At 10:30 a.m. on Saturday, a combined group of police officers and vigilantes was said to have taken out the offenders.
According to Command Spokesman Abubakar Aliyu, the success was a result of the command’s continued resolve to combat banditry in the state.
When the joint patrol squad arrived in the Kwakare Area, they came under fire from some suspected kidnappers. However, he continued, the terrorists were forced to retreat into the next jungle by the police’ heroic return fire.
Following their neutralisation, the bodies of the suspects were subsequently identified as belonging to Hassan Bukuru, Dogo Na Sahura, and infamous bandit commander Bala Wuta, who terrorised Jibia LGA and its surroundings.
