Hope Uzodimma, the governor of Imo State, claims that the Second Niger Bridge project completed by the President Muhammadu Buhari administration is sufficient for the Igbo people of the south-east geopolitical zone to support Bola Tinubu as the All Progressives Congress (APC) presidential candidate in 2023 and preserve the legacy of the party.

“Senator Bola Tinubu is the APC’s (the ruling party’s) nominee for president. Since the end of the civil war in 1970, when the Igbos requested the Second Niger Bridge, successive governments have come with empty promises.

“The last Christmas was celebrated with joy, with Igbos using the Second Niger Bridge to travel from outside the South-East.” The governor stated on Channels Television’s Politics Today on Thursday that “it is even enough for the entire Igbo to vote for Buhari’s legacy to continue.”

The majority of the federal roads in the region have received enough care, according to Uzodimma, the coordinator for Tinubu’s campaign in the South-East, and commuters are no longer as inconvenienced as they once were.

“It doesn’t matter if Bola Tinubu comes from the same area as I am; what matters are the programmes, to the extent that our great party’s platform has persuaded and won over the public.” “I have every confidence that the APC is the party to beat in Nigeria,” he declared.

In the South-East, Uzodimma also declared that he is leading a coordinated campaign for all APC candidates and expressed confidence in the success of all of the party’s candidates for governor, House of Assembly, House of Representatives, and Senate seats.

In order to improve travel conditions for holiday travellers, the Federal Government opened the bridge to traffic on December 15, 2022, while the project was still ongoing.
