On January 10, the Social Democratic Party (SDP) and its candidate for the Adamawa governorship, Umar Ardo, filed an appeal, which was denied by the Supreme Court on Wednesday.
Following the candidate’s attorney’s plea for the court to dismiss the case, the verdict was rendered.

The appeal was later denied by the John Okoro-led panel of five members.
The petition filed by Ardo contesting Ahmadu Fintiri’s victory was denied by both the tribunal and the Court of Appeal in Abuja.
Now, Fintiri must deal with the appeal that the All Progressives Congress (APC) and its nominee, Aishatu Dahiru, filed in an attempt to be named the state’s governor.
To confirm Finitiri as the state’s governor, all that is needed is the appeal that the APC and its candidate, Aishatu Dahiru, submitted.
