The chancellor urged the populace to oppose anti-Semitism with “civic courage.”

Chancellor Olaf Scholz has stated that German citizens are responsible for protecting all Jews residing in the nation from the wave of anti-Semitic crimes triggered by the Israel-Hamas war.

“Anyone who targets Jews in Germany is targeting us all.” We should all speak out in favour of the safety of Jews in Germany because of this. Over the weekend, Scholz spoke with the daily Mannheimer Morgen about the importance of civic courage.

Furthermore, Vice Chancellor Robert Habeck “has formulated the position of the entire federal government in his social media video very well,” according to Scholz.

Habeck bemoaned that “too few” German Muslims had stood up for the Jews back home and against the actions of the Palestinian militant group Hamas, which killed about 1,400 people during its incursion into Israel on October 7. The speech, which lasted for ten minutes, was published on Wednesday.

Study up on Vice chancellor Habeck also urged the Muslim community to disassociate itself from acts of anti-Semitism, which have escalated since the most recent wave of bloodshed in the Middle East, saying that “too few” German Muslims had denounced Hamas.

Speaking with Mannheimer Morgen, Scholz stated that Berlin was coordinating with Israel and “facilitating the unconditional release of all hostages” held by Hamas by “using all connections in the region.”

German authorities view the fight against hate crimes against Jews as a means of making amends for the Holocaust and treat anti-Semitism as a serious social issue. Germany’s Interior Minister Nancy Fraeser declared last week that Hamas, a terrorist group, would no longer be allowed to operate.
