Paul Scholes, the legendary Manchester United player, has been picked by former Chelsea midfielder John Mikel Obi as his favourite English player.
Mikel Obi has competed against and alongside some of the top English players, such as Rio Ferdinand, John Terry, and Frank Lampard.
During his more than ten-year tenure at Stamford Bridge, he won four FA Cups, two Premier League championships, and a UEFA Champions League trophy.

Mikel Obi stated on Rio Ferdinand’s podcast Vibe with Five, “He [Scholes] is the best English player, in my opinion” (via Daily Star).
“He is simply amazing at playing the game, and we all believe that he was the only English midfielder good enough to play for Barcelona at the time.”
Scholes amassed an incredible 716 Manchester United games of action.
For the Red Devils, he tallied 155 goals and 81 assists.
Along with his 11 Premier League titles, Scholes also won one Club World Cup with United, four FA Cups, League Cups, and two UEFA Champions Leagues.
